Joshua Sharf, conceded that his motives were to prevent the party from being "infected" with Sinclair's ideas. It is obvious that Sharf's intention to prevent the free exchange of ideas stands in direct opposition not only to the party of Lincoln but to all basic values of a free democratic society that made America great.
