ENERGY

Positions:

  • A healthy economy can not exist without a healthy energy policy. Colorado is lucky to have multiple resources to satisfy our energy need. The role of the government is to put forward incentives for renewable energy applications and to encourage partnerships between the private sector and higher education scientific research.

Issues:
  • With oil prices around $150 per barrel and rising, the price of everything from gasoline to food is being driven beyond the ability of many people to pay.

  • As oil prices move higher, we need to further develop Colorado's vast oil and gas resources. A responsible and balanced policy that accounts for environmental concerns, industry employment and consumer demand will only help Colorado economy move forward.

  • Alternative fuel research and its practical applications need to be in the forefront of our energy policy.
